I am not a "wedding" kind of girl.  I never sat around and dreamed about my "big day". I feel like it's a complete waste of time and money.  The only thing I ever pictured about my wedding was eloping in Las Vegas wearing a very short white dress.  Tim feels like we have to have a "wedding" so I said, "ok then, it has to be in Vegas!"  So for the 2nd time in a year (making up for lost time) we headed to Vegas for 3 nights over Halloween weekend...except that mother nature had other ideas! After being underwhelmed by the wedding options in Las Vegas we decided to look into a destination wedding.  Several of my friends had done Mexico already so we were looking for an alternative that still offered us great all inclusive resorts.  That's what led us to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. I had wanted to visit here for a long time and knew 2 other people that had great wedding experiences, so we booked a 5 night trip for mid-April. After unsuccessful scouting trips to Las Vegas and Punta Cana, we decided to check out Puerto Vallarta, Mexico as a possible wedding location.  We had been there a few years earlier for a wedding and really liked it, plus hurricanes are rarely a problem...except for when they are.
